Spurs Willing to Offloading Attacker Brennan Johnson.

Brennan Johnson in action
Brennan Johnson has won 42 times with the Welsh national team after his first appearance two years ago.

Tottenham Hotspur's European final match-winner Brennan Johnson is facing an uncertain future at the club due to growing top-flight interest in the attacker.

Sources suggest that the club, while not actively seeking to sell the Welsh international, are receptive to letting Johnson leave should they receive a acceptable offer.

Crystal Palace are currently the team most advanced in their interest for Johnson, but other teams are said to be watching developments with interest.

A Season of Mixed Fortunes

Johnson was Spurs' top top-flight scorer the previous campaign with 11 goals, and secured his place in club history by scoring the winner in their Europa League final triumph over Manchester United in Bilbao, bringing to a close the club's 17-year wait for a trophy.

However, the departure of Ange Postecoglou and arrival of Thomas Frank has resulted in Johnson playing more of a bit-part role in the current campaign.

The 24-year-old, has made only 6 top-flight starting appearances under Frank.

January Market Interest Grows

Consequently, a number of clubs have been made aware of his likely exit before the January transfer window.

Due to his lack of action and the looming possibility of a global tournament approaching with his national team, a move away from Tottenham may suit Johnson next month.

The attacker moved to Tottenham from Nottingham Forest in a deal worth £47.5m in the 2023 summer window and has scored 27 goals for the club.

Key Points

  • Brennan Johnson's position at Spurs is now uncertain.
  • Tottenham is not pushing for a sale but would entertain bids.
  • Crystal Palace are leading the chase, with other Premier League clubs monitoring.
  • The arrival of manager has limited his first-team opportunities this season.
  • The upcoming transfer window and international commitments could influence a January exit.
