Salah Offers Apology to Squad, Says Curtis Jones
The Liverpool midfielder has revealed that Salah expressed regret to the team after the fallout from his recent interview.
The Incident
Salah was left out from a vital match following making accusations and stating his relationship with manager had deteriorated.
“He speaks for himself and he can say his own stuff,” Jones revealed. “He apologised to us and was like: ‘If I’ve affected anybody, I apologise.’”
The head coach has refused to reveal on whether he got an explanation from the player.
Moving Forward
He emphasized that the squad's reaction stayed normal. “Nothing about him changed, he had a big smile on his face and it was business as usual,” he continued.
Jones also noted that a teammate fighting for a place is a positive trait. “I understand there are specific approaches you can handle situations,” he said. “However, if a player is content to just be on the bench, then I think that’s more of an issue.”
Team Form
The team's performance have been impressive in the matches since the initial controversy. Jones believes the outburst were never meant to cause disruption.
“If passion has boiled over, it has consistently come from a good place,” the midfielder stated. “It's behind us and we’re uniting strongly, getting results and starting to win games.”
