Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, a versatile actor, Recognized For Roles in The Middle and Friends, Dies at Age 60.
US actor Pat Finn, who was seen in beloved TV shows such as "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has died at 60 years old.
The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California this Monday following treatment for a cancer diagnosis from 2022 onward, per reports.
"Pat Finn considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives stated in a message.
They added that he had "embraced life completely - with joy and exuberance".
A Notable Career on Screen
His initial on-screen part was in the George Wendt Show in 1995, where he portrayed the lead character's sibling.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.
He starred as the character Joe Mayo in the show Seinfeld in 1998, playing a party host famous for delegating tedious tasks to his guests.
In the late 1990s and early 2000s, he had guest spots on several hit series, like:
- The King of Queens
- Friends
- "That '70s Show"
- House, M.D.
He was most recognized for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, starring in eight series over nearly a decade.
His film credits are It's Complicated and "Santa Paws 2".
Off-Screen Life
Outside of his on-screen roles, Finn was a skilled improviser and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was a faculty member.
He was a member of a six-member improv team named Beer Shark Mice.
"Finn guided, supported, and advised numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has a bad thing to say about him," his relatives stated.
Paying homage, peer actor Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, down to earth person you could encounter".
"Always positive, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he posted on social media.
Finn is leaves behind his partner Donna, his children, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
